- The items in this week's bulletin are courtesy of Bob, WB2CJL, the
- OPDX Bulletin, the Yankee Clipper Contest Club PacketCluster network

- CAMBODIA. XU0HW has recently been heard on 20 meters as well as the
- WARC bands. He is using a 12 element log periodic antenna and a Gap
- vertical.

- CRETE. HA6NY will be active May 24 to 31 mainly with RTTY.

- NORTHERN MARIANAS. AH0T will be by JA6VZB, and KH2GR/KH0 by JF6BCC.
- They will be active May 26 to 30 on all bands with CW, SSB and RTTY.
- Plans include operating in the CQ WPX CW contest. QSL their
- respective home call signs.

- ASCENSION ISLAND. N6TJ will be operating May 20 through June 2 as
- ZD8Z. Will be active on all bands during the WPX contest and plans
- to concentrate on 160 meters. QSL via VE3HO.

- NAURU. Ron, ZL1AMO, who was active as C21/ZL1AMO last week is
- expected to show up from Western Kiribati, T30. QSL via home call.

- SAINT PIERRE AND MIQUELON ISLANDS. Dave, KA1NCN, will sign
- FP/KA1NCN July 19 through 25. He will operate CW, SSB and RTTY on
- 160 through 10 meters. QSL via AA1AS.

- CORSICA. Dieter, DF4RD, plans to be doing some work 30 km north of
- Ajaccio, though his radio activities will be limited. Seven Italian
- operators will be active from May 19 to 23. They will operate CW
- and SSB on 160 through 10 meters, with special attention to the WARC
- and lower bands.

- CHAD. F5OIJ/TT8 was heard on 21335 kHz around 1345z on May 13. The
- operator stated he would be there for the next 3 to 4 months and be
- issued the call sign TT8PS. No documentation has been received for
- this operation.

- HAWAII. A special operation from North Oahu using above average
- transmit and receive antennas is planned from 0200z May 21 to 1600z
- May 22. Listen for KH6U and KH6IRT on 1830 kHz, CW and SSB. KH6U
- needs only WV, AK, VT and RI for his WAS award. Help him out if you
- can.

- CANADA. Canadian amateurs have been authorized to use the prefixes
- XK, XL, XO, and VG from May 28 to July 28 in commemoration of the
- 50th Anniversary of D Day.

- WHAT ARE THESE X5 CALLS? X5 is an unofficial prefix being used by
- Serbian hams operating from within the borders of Bosnia and
- Croatia. These stations are not valid for DXCC purposes.

- ARMED FORCES DAY. Though not necessarily DX, working a military
- station split, straddled across a band edge, is certainly rare.
- This years Armed Forces Day is the 45th running of this annual
- event. Information on QSOs and receiving tests is on page 135 of
- May QST. Special CW17/RTTY and packet bulletin ARLX017 contain some
- update info.

- THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. There is a little something for everyone
- this weekend. Check out one or more of these operating events.

- The ARRL Spring Sprint on 50 MHz is from 2100z May 21 to 0300z May
- 22. Exchange grid square designators. Full information appears on
- page 120 of March QST.

- The Michigan QSO Party, sponsored by the Oak Park ARC, is from 1800z
- May 21 to 0300z May 22, and 1100z May 22 to 0200z May 23. In this
- SSB and CW event, work stations once per band and mode. The
- exchange is signal report, QSO number and county for Michigan
- stations, or state/province/DXCC country for all others. For more
- information, see pages 114 and 115 in April QST.

- The Spring NWQRP Sprint, sponsored by the North West QRP Club, runs
- from 1700 to 2100z May 21. In this CW only event, run 5 watts
- output or less, and work stations once per band. NWQRP Club members
- will exchange RST, state and NWQRP number. Non-members sent RST,
- state and power level. Details appear on page 114 of April QST.

- MFJ 90's RC May QRP CW contest, sponsored by the MFJ 90's Radio
- Club, is from 0000z May 21 to 2400z May 22. MFJ 90's RC members
- exchange RST, state/province/DXCC country. Non-members send RST,
- state/province/DXCC country and power output. See page 114 of April
- QST.
